Values
The Minnesota
Independent School Forum is a shared quest to enhance private and independent
education. Four common values unite the diverse member-owners
of MISF.
Independence
MISF members hold their right to create the school environment as
a central value. Schools want to choose their curriculum, culture,
teaching methods
and mode of operation. They also believe that a good education requires
a good match between school and student. Financial self-sufficiency
is key for schools to maintain their autonomy.
Whole Student
Development
MISF schools see that students have a third dimension beyond academics
and co-curricular activities, which faculty and staff seek to develop.
Whether viewed through the lens of spirituality or character development,
MISF member schools provide values-based education for a total student
experience.
High Quality
Education
MISF schools offer a high level of preparation for high school students,
striving for both student and program excellence. MISF and its members
are committed to giving students from various economic, racial and
ethnic backgrounds a means to achievement through scholarships and
a supportive
community.
Association
The members of MISF come together to engage in a common fundraising
campaign for scholarships, as well as joint programming, networking
and knowledge
sharing. Members explore causes they hold in common and make their
united voices heard in the policy arena through MISF.
